Using web 2.0 tools in online teaching
| Prof. Dr. Eleonora Burnete, - 16 Jan 2022

Web 2.0, also known as the “social web”, is the second smart generation of web development that facilitates communication, provides secure information and various services, and provides collaboration on the Internet.
Figure 1. Web2.0
The notion of Web 2.0 refers in particular to two fundamental changes:
• The transition from the web in which one reads to the web in which one writes / reads, full of user-generated content (participatory web),
• So-called cloud computing - Internet servers are not only data but also applications, which users have access to from any computer connected to the Internet and a browser.
 A description of Web 2.0 could be made by the following features:
 The main feature is Web 2.0 includes a very wide range of applications and services that use the Web as a unified and organized communication platform. It is built on an architecture that encourages active user participation and allows easy interaction between users who have the same interests;
 The goal of Web 2.0 is creative facilitation, information sharing, and collaboration between users.
Classification of Web 2.0 tools
 Web 2.0 tools are classified into:  - Web 2.0 tools for search, Web 2.0 tools for social bookmarking, - Web 2.0 tools for communication - Web 2.0 tools for learning, - Semantic engines. Web 2.0 learning tools are used in the educational process to facilitate and stimulate it. Create a blog, community or social networking tool, wiki tool, use interactive information gathering programs, use videos or tools provided by Google.
 1. Linoit can be used to capture students’ attention. Linoit is a free service that allows you to create a sticky multi-media online canvas. In addition to the basic text, sticky notes that you place on your canvas may contain videos, images, and attachments. Linoit allows you to change the size and color of your fonts, and you can use the built-in calendar tool to set due dates on sticky notes. To use Linoit, you need to sign up for a (free) account. Once you’ve registered, you can create as many sticky (forum-like) panels as possible. You can make public or private glasses and notes public. If you make a canvas public, others can add sticky notes to the collaboration board and read others’ notes.

 2. Mentimiter
 Mentimeter is an application that allows you to interact with a target group in real-time. It is a survey tool where you can ask the question and the target group can answer using a mobile phone or any other device connected to the internet. How does it work ?! To create a poll, click on the “New presentation” button, then choose its name. On the right side will be the menu for editing the question type. After this choice, you will put the title of the question and the answer options and how they will be displayed. The last step is the presentation, which is done with the “Present” button on the top right. After presenting the question at the top of the screen, a code will be visible. The target group will go to the application page and enter the code displayed in the target space, which will be preceded by answering the question on your device and displaying the result on the question screen.

Tricider is an application that makes it easier to make decisions in a group.
• Participants have the opportunity to propose ideas, evaluate them and vote, without having to be in the same place.
When to use Tricider:
In education - by teachers.
• when you want to do a survey;
• when challenging students to look for ideas for projects;
• when you create a debate/discussion on a topic;
when you attend a group project

    5. Quizizz
 Allows you to conduct passive formative assessments for students in a fun and engaging way for students of all ages. Key features include:
 Parallel to the student: the questions appear on the screen of each student so that they can answer the questions at their own pace and review their answers at the end.
 It can be played by students using any device with a browser, including computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. This game can be created by the student himself if he creates his account
 Figure 4. Quizizz in class
 How do you access the quiz platform?
 On Google you type Quizizz and a page will open, then if you don’t have an account you create one.
 Use the Quizizz app to learn anything, anywhere. You can study on your own or engage in group quizzes, assignments, and presentations—in person and remotely. Quizizz is used by more than 20 million people per month in schools, homes, and offices around the world.
 Kitchen tables and sofas may have replaced classroom desks and cubicles, but that hasn’t stopped student engagement. As you transition to distance learning, we hope the ideas below help you continue to build community.
 You can start a live quiz or send it to google classroom to assign homework. I often use in my classes quizzes for assessment and lessons for teaching notions.
